DS for Newbies manual

Back when Design Studio was first released I started putting a beginners guide together. For some reason I never got around to posting it on the blog. Instead I concentrated on putting individual tutorials together.

Well, a month or so ago I dragged the guide out, dusted it off and finished it!

Hello Thursday - February 2012

Yes, I'm a bit late again.... :)

And you've most likely already seen the new carts for February. But just in case you've been on a desert island for the last 4 days here's the cartridge release for February.

3 new carts - Garden Soup, Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 and Creative Memories Divine Wedding.

All 3 have already been added to the Design Studio Cartridge Update along with the 2 missing carts from December - Victorian Romance and CM This & That.

All images are from the Official Cricut Blog. Make sure you go check it out! The Shirt box on TBBM2 is so cute! And I'm told (thanks Scrapalette) that the Cracker actually pops!

Finally fixed!

It took me 2 days and lots of swearing but I finally got my blog back to normal.

I've decided I don't like Blogger very much today! It's been acting weird for about a week with things like my Edit button (the little pencil) going missing.

For now I'm just glad it's back to it's pretty self and I didn't lose any posts!

Note to self...

Several notes actually...

1: Drinking two cans of V Energy drink and 5 cups of coffee will result in insomnia.

2: Insomnia means that you'll still be awake at 2:00am. Then you'll decide that it's a great time to do some work on your blog...using your iPad because you're away from home visiting your Mother for the weekend.

3: Working on your blog at 2:00am means you'll stuff something up badly and not have your backups available to fix it.

4: Next time read a book!!!

Do you have DS files that you'd like to use in Cricut Craft Room? If you have a Gypsy you can now convert them and Import them into CCR.

There are four new carts this month, two of them Imagine carts.

They are:

Good Old Days (Imagine Art)
Notebook Doodles (Imagine Patterns)
This & That (Creative Memories Exclusive)
Victorian Romance 

PC have also released four more of the existing cartridges digitally. They are Art Nouveau, Chic & Scary, Simply Scarecrows and Something to Celebrate. These digital carts can only be used with Cricut Craft Room or the Gypsy. (Unless PC make a way for Design Studio to recognise that you own the digital cart.)

There are eight cartridges retiring this month. They are:

Just a quick heads up to let you know that the October and November carts have now been added to Design Studio.

Changing your user name on the Cricut messageboard

I've noticed since the latest messageboard update that new members names have a long series of numbers after them. If you'd like to change your username to something else it's very easy. Here's how you do it:

First, make sure you are logged into the messageboard.

At the top of the screen (it doesn't matter which forum you're viewing) click on My Profile

At the next screen (the Control Panel) click on Edit Profile

The first option on that page is your display name. Delete the current name and type in the name you want displayed on the messageboard, then click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

You'll be taken back to the Control Panel screen. To return to the messageboard click on the Cricut Community banner at the top of the screen.

Hello Thursday - November 2011

Just two new Cricut carts to show you this month.

The first is called Cricut Font and Basic Shapes and comes free with the Cricut Mini. This is a digital cart which is available through Cricut Craft Room. There are three fonts on this cartridge.

The second is a seasonal cart called Snow Day.
